Tardigrades are are small animals witch grow up to O.5mm long and would most likely survive the apocalypse. These animals are also referred to as moss piglets or water bears because they are marine animals, for they require a thin layer of water around themselves. They have 8 legs with 4-6 claws on each foot. 

Tardigrades are the most resilient thing on earth, falling into every category of extremophile, and can even survive in space for decades while in “tun state”. Tun is where a tardigrade shut down most of their bodies and use self-produced bacteria as food making this animal it’s own extremely sustainable ecosystem. Tardigrades also use this as their regular source of food.

Tardigrades were found in 1773 and there are around 13OO species discovered from all over the world. These miniature animals may also be the solution to the future of protection against radiation.
